Who am I?

I’m Sin, a research-driven UX designer who specializes in clarifying complexity.

I translate messy, logic-heavy problems into clear structures and flows using information architecture and visualization frameworks that align cross-functional teams.

With experience across multimedia design, machine learning, and business strategy, I craft experiences that are intentional, usable, and impactful.

Design Philosophy

I started my career in advertising, working on a $2 million multimedia campaign filled with celebrity videos and flashy creative. It got millions of likes, then engagement faded fast. That moment stuck with me and changed how I define good design.I don’t want to create something beautiful and forgettable.

I want to solve real problems, connect with users, and iterate toward outcomes that matter. That’s why I moved into UX, where I can combine craft with research and strategy to build work that’s meaningful, measurable, and aligned with business goals.

I also use AI as part of my workflow for research, ideation, and prototyping, but I’m intentional about it. Tools should serve humans, so I treat AI output as a starting point and validate it through critique, user feedback, and stakeholder alignment. Fast is great, but accuracy, trust, and user-friendliness are what make a product successful.

Let’s connect! I’d love to chat about design, tech, or collaboration opportunities. Feel free to say hi on LinkedIn or reach out me directly. I’m always open to curious conversations.

Outside of Work

I moved to Vancouver in 2022 from Hong Kong. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me hiking, camping, or planning the next outdoor trip.

Mindfulness is also a big part of my life. I meditate daily and have completed two 10-day silent Vipassana retreats. I later returned as a volunteer and served as a course manager.

I’m a lifelong learner, especially in self-growth and psychology. I’ve studied Virginia Satir’s approach to therapeutic communication, which influences how I communicate and collaborate. I also enjoy storytelling through short videos on Vimeo.

A person stands on a rocky cliff overlooking a stunning alpine lake surrounded by jagged, snow-capped mountains under a blue sky. The deep turquoise water below reflects the expansive, rugged landscape, evoking a sense of awe and adventure.
Two tents are pitched on a grassy, rocky plateau surrounded by pine trees, with dramatic mountain peaks and low-hanging clouds in the background. The sky is streaked with soft evening light filtering through scattered clouds, creating a tranquil alpine camping atmosphere.
