About

I came to UX after starting in advertising, where I worked on a $2M multimedia campaign that earned millions of likes but faded fast. That experience taught me what I want to design: work that's visible but not durable.

These days, I spend most of my time on the messy middle of products, where backend logic meets non-technical users, where the wrong default can quietly cost a team days of rework, and where shipping fast isn't the same as shipping well. I design for systems people need to trust over time.

How I Work

I treat AI as a research teammate, not a decision-maker. I move fast on early exploration, synthesis, ideation, UI variations, but keep human judgment in control of the decisions that matter.

I've been developing methodologies for AI-integrated product design: the "Trust but Verify" framework from my Rule Builder work, and the markdown-based AI workflow I built for clinical operations.

I'm comfortable in low-maturity environments where the design function is still being defined. The most useful work I've done has come from re-framing what was being asked, not just executing it well.

Outside of Work

I moved to Vancouver from Hong Kong in 2022. Outside of work, you'll usually find me hiking, camping, or planning the next outdoor trip.

Mindfulness is a core part of my life. I meditate daily and have completed two 10-day silent Vipassana retreats, including one as a volunteer course manager. That practice shapes how I sit with ambiguity in design work and how I hold space in stakeholder conversations without rushing to resolve.

I'm a lifelong learner in psychology and self-growth. I've studied Virginia Satir's approach to therapeutic communication, which shapes how I run user interviews, give design feedback, and navigate cross-functional disagreements.

I also tell stories through short videos on Vimeo.

I'm currently open to full-time Product Design roles and strategic engagements. Reach me on LinkedIn or Email.
